The participatory arts change lives.
Our work.
Probation
Since 2021 we have been delivering creative arts sessions in the CFO Activity Hubs in Yorkshire and the NW. The image above is a mural designed and installed in the Sheffield hub.
Youth Justice
Rhythm and Renewal is our Youth Justice programme. It is built around our long-term partnership with Manchester Youth Justice Service and is generously supported by Youth Music.
Prisons
Starting in 2024, Changing Stories is our NHS England funded prison arts programme sees us delivering creative arts residency projects in all fifteen of the NW regional prisons.
Training & Teaching
Training and professional development are core to our existence. We established the UK's longest running (and best) undergraduate training course in Prison Theatre at the University of Manchester. We also deliver training courses in applied music practice. In all of our training, we are seeking to develop a balanced understanding of practice and theory, investing in their professional development and offering support that extends way beyond the classroom or lecture theatre.
Moments in Transit
In 2024, TiPP adopted Deansgate Railway Station, one of Manchester’s busiest city centre stations. Moments in Transit is an exhibition of photographs in the station taken by some of Manchester’s most underserved young people.
The exhibition captures moments of the ever-changing street art in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
Next Stop
Next Stop is a creative arts initiative is funded by GMCA’s Collaborate fund working withsome of Greater Manchester’s most underserved young people—those at risk of involvement in crime and anti-social behaviour. Inspired by the Bee Network and our Moments in Transit Project at Deansgate Station project, it brings together partners from youth justice, transport, and the arts to deliver participatory programmes that foster wellbeing, self-expression, and community connection.
